Holding
The court held that a written contract to devise property, proven through secondary evidence of lost letters and corroborated by disinterested witnesses, was enforceable in equity, and that the plaintiff's full performance of the contract by selling her property and relocating to provide companionship constituted sufficient consideration, thereby rendering the doctrine of mutuality of remedy inapplicable.
