Holding

The court held that in a quantum meruit action for services rendered to a decedent, a claimant may not recover indirect expenses that conferred no direct benefit on the recipient, and that interest on a contested claim against an estate, even for expenses of last illness, does not begin to accrue until the probate court issues a formal order for payment following the marshaling of assets and determination of claim priority.
